Do not tan (no sun or bed) for one week prior to the procedure.

Do not take aspirin, niacin, vitamin E or ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure

No alcohol the night prior or on the day of the procedure.

No botox for 4 weeks prior to the procedure.

It is best to do a scrub 3 days prior to the procedure.

Stop using any RetinA or AHA products for 2 weeks prior.

No lasers or chemical peels for 1 month prior.

No microdermabrasion or dermaplaning for 2 weeks prior.

No chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatments for 8 weeks prior.

Results vary depending on each persons’ skin, blood type, lifestyle, existing hair, bone structure, face shape, any medications taken, the amount of times the area has been worked on and aftercare. We cannot guarantee your results.

  • After your lamination, please avoid heat, steam (including cooking over steaming stovetop), saunas, exercising, water, oils, lotions, creams, shampoos, face washes and makeup remover wipes or pads on your brows.

Your brows will be sealed with a coating essence and will feel a bit stiff, this is normal!

  • Your new brows will go through several phases during the healing cycle.

Initially they may seem to be too red and too large, don’t be alarmed. We have just worked the skin and it is natural for it to be red and swollen. It will calm down in a day or so.

The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin and has not settled in completely. The color of the pigment will soften gradually, and the scabbing process will also make the brows appear dark. Stay calm - all of this will lighten within a week or so. The color will eventually be 20-40% lighter and the brow will be about 10% smaller when fully healed.

Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes/dry skin. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly, however, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally removed from your eyebrows.

Some parts will disappear and re-appear in 2-3 weeks. Not all pigmentation will remain. It is perfectly natural to lose between 20-30% of your pigmentation, it will be replaced at your touch up.

You may feel itching, please try to resist. If you find yourself unable to resist itching, you may apply some Bactine to the area for relief.

Once all scabbing has naturally fallen off and skin is healed, you may apply Vitamin E oil/coconut oil to the brow a few times a day, until it is time for your second session.

  • FOR 7-10 DAYS FOLLOWING YOUR PROCEDURE:

Clean them daily with your Cleansed. cleanser from your Aftercare Kit.

Only touch the healing area with clean finger/hands.

Apply a thin layer of Glossed. twice a day starting from the 3rd day until the procedure area has healed. ALWAYS USE A CLEAN Q-TIP FOR APPLICATION, NOT YOUR FINGERTIPS.

No make-up, tinting of lashes/brows, sun, soap, sauna, jacuzzi, swimming in chlorine pools or in recreational bodies of water.

No heavy exercise such as cardio or aerobics, dancing, weight lifting, contact with animals or gardening until fully healed and after all touch-ups.

Before bathing/showering, gently apply a light coat of Glossed. on the area using a clean cotton swab. Continue this regime until it has completely healed.

Do not rub or traumatize the procedure area while it is healing (it may remove the pigment along the crusting tissue).

Use a “total sun block” after the procedure area has healed to prevent future fading of pigment color.

Do not use products that contain AHA’s on the procedure area. Always check your product labeling, it will fade your pigment color. (Example: Glycolic, Lactic Acids)

Try to sleep on a satin pillowcase while the procedure area is healing.

If you have any questions or concerns or if you experience any swelling, blistering or any other complications post procedure, stop using product and call your artist immediately. You may be allergic to the after care product you are using!

If you have excessive redness, swelling, tenderness or any red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated temperature, or purulent drainage from the procedure site, contact your physician or call 911 as the area may be infected and you may need to seek medical care.

Your procedure will begin to oxidize immediately. This causes the pigment to become darker. Do not be alarmed, this dark color will fade during the next few days.

FAQs

+ What are ombré powder brows?

Also known as powder brows or shaded brows, it is a semi-permanent make-up procedure where a tattoo machine is used to insert semi-permanent pigment in to the top layers of your skin. With this technique, the brows are made darker at the tails and lighten as it moves towards the front, creating an ombré effect that leaves you with soft, natural-looking brows.

+ How does it differ from microblading or microshading?

The ombré powder technique creates a misty, powder-filled brow resembling the look of makeup application or a fresh new eyebrow tint.

Microblading uses a manual tool with needles lined up in a blade-like form used to cut lines in to the skin, made to resemble hair strokes, while pigment is deposited.

Microshading is a mixture of both techniques with microblading in the front of the brows to create hairstrokes and powder shading on tails to define the shape.

+ Which one is for me?

For clients with oiler skin, ombré powder is the way to go as microblading doesn’t hold nearly as well.

In recent experience, we’ve also learned that microblading can be quite abrasive and damages the skin pretty quickly. After a few rounds of microblading, thick scar tissue is formed.

For most of our clients, the ombré powder brow procedure is less painful.

+ What can I do to prepare for my appointment?

Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and pain-killers 24 hours prior to the appointment. These substances thins out your blood and heightens your senses, causes scarring and makes the procedure more painful.

+Do I need to groom my brows before my appointment?

Not necessary! Any hairs outside of your frame is removed with a razor blade after the shape is established.

+Should I come in with or without makeup?

Either one is fine. If there is a specific shape and color you’d like your artist to see, come in with your desired brow shape. If not, come in without makeup because your brow area will be cleaned prior to the procedure!

+How long does it last? When will I need it retouched?

Your new brows will last you 2-3 years if taken care of well. After your initial appointment, a touch up is required within 4-8 weeks. After that, a touch up every 1-2 years is recommended.

+Who is not eligible for this service?

You should not receive these brow services if you are: pregnant, breastfeeding, diabetic, if you have glaucoma, skin diseases, keloid disorder, skin cancer or if you are taking skin medications like steroids. Those with HIV/Hepatitis are eligible but we ask that you inform us prior to your appointment so that we may discuss healing processes according to your condition.

+What will my brows look like?

Results will vary! Factors that contribute to your results include skin type, brow bone, pores, amount of brow hair and thickness of your brow hair. Your lifestyle can also contribute to your healed results.

+ Does it hurt?

It varies from person to person. The first few minutes may hurt because we outline without numbing but the pain is very minimal to mild. After the outline, a topical anesthetic is used therefore pain is minimized.

+ Why do I already need a touch up in 4 weeks?

Every new set of brows requires two sessions to achieve the desired results. After only one session, patchiness and uneven shading can be expected.
